Walking down the street, or strolling through the woods. Leaves blowing in the wind. A special leaf will emerge from among the others– a little more perfectly formed, maybe a mix of colors; unique as a snow crystal– just like people. $100.
Degas painted real people doing real things and usually did sketches before doing a painting. I did this quick sketch in our garrett room of the Degas House in New Orleans so that I could experience doing artwork where he did it.
We are staying at the Degas House in New Orleans where French Impressionist Edgar Degas painted while residing in his maternal relatives' house in America. This is a pastel sketch inspired by a painting of ballerinas on the wall in the room. From here I attended a ballet class at the New Orleans Ballet Theater.
Everyday we encounter simple things, people, places that affect our lives from dawn to dusk. I capture them. The paintings offered here arematted but unframed [unless noted].
