Catch it while you can.

This painting captures forever the scene that one day may never be seen again.
The wildflower Loosestrife creates a beautiful carpet of purples, but it is an invasive plant that has taken over wetlands, choking native plants, etc. To control it conservation people have imported Galerucella beetles from Europe to eradicate it– which is working– fortunately, and unfortunately.
But, its beauty is now forever 'caught' as art.
Purple 'light caught'. 100 years from now they may wonder what flowers are these, carpeting the landscape in this pastel painting.
