It's dawn.
Devoid of color.
The world wakens white.
What now are snowflakes
were last spring magnolias.
Now 'petals' have covered the ground that was green.
And although just 5 am– footprints are seen.
Behind a flake now lights are alive-
a street lamp, a door light, a new sun to rise.
