Spring's flower of vanity-Narcissus

Narcissus, of Greek mythology, was a beautiful youth, who was so obsessed with his own reflection as he gazed into a spring, that he fell in and drowned. Legend has it that the Narcissus flower [or daffodil] sprang from the spot where he died.

Spring's vain flower has sprung onto my windowsill.

Pastel, 5x7, $125.
