Millet is noted for his pastel scenes of peasant men & women farmers, workers, laborers in daily scenes depicting their daily struggle for survival. An exhibit I just saw at the MFA inspired my pastel painting of a present day worker-
a woman twining lavender bunches on a lavender farm.
